Mission

Our goal is to provide expert quality care

and an exceptional patient experience.

Values

We seek to prioritize care over profit, hospitality in everything, growing responsibly, unique relationships with each patient, and being family oriented.

Vision

To be a locally owned practice where doctors are sole providers, patients experience improved skin health, employees stay long term, and private equity never acquires ownership.

Why We’re Doing What We’re Doing

At Refine Dermatology, our mission is to provide the expert dermatological care and hospitality that we believe every patient deserves. At the head of our team is Dr. Jill Salyards, a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. After working for larger, corporate-owned practices for a few years, she realized her desire to run her own practice where the patient's experience and care are the number one priority. She and her husband, Andy Salyards, created Refine Dermatology so that patients would have a locally owned dermatology practice that they trust.

WHAT WE DO:

Cosmetic Dermatology Services:

Neurotoxins

Botox® works by interfering with neural transmission at the neuromuscular junction. When injecting botulinum toxin into muscles, the toxin inhibits the release of acetylcholine from presynaptic motor neurons to the postsynaptic motor neurons resulting in paralysis of the affected muscles. This blockage is irreversible; however, neural function recovers by sprouting new nerve terminals and forming new synapses. This process of recovery takes approximately 2-3 months.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to temporarily add or restore volume for aesthetic purposes without surgery. As we age, we begin to lose fat and bone in the face. There is also loss of collagen and hyaluronic acid which causes the skin to begin to wrinkle and sag. Dermal fillers are used to help recreate a more youthful appearance by addressing naturally occurring volume loss. Fillers can also be used to enhance the lips, to improve aging of the hands, and to decrease under eye shadows.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel involves the application of an agent to the skin which causes the top layers of the skin to exfoliate or peel. They are used to treat fine lines, pigmentation, aging or sagging skin, sun damage, acne, and acne scarring. At Refine Dermatology, we offer several different peels to address your needs including Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA), Salicylic Acid and Modified Jessner’s Solution (salicylic acid, lactic acid, citric acid, ethanol). The exact chemical and strength used will be determined by Dr. Salyards and will be based on the extent of sun damage present, your skin type, and your goals of the procedure.
